Korean Characters Bucket Hat
A bucket hat featuring characters that represent parts of Korean culture.
Made in collaboration with Annika Pyo. Embroidered locally at MKC Threads.
Tiger: As the national animal of Korea, tigers symbolize strength and power. They also play a prominent role in the myth of Dangun, which depicts the birth of the Korean civilization.
Persimmon: An important fruit in Korea and across Asia, persimmons symbolize transformation (going from green & bitter to orange & sweet) and eaten all throughout the fall and winter seasons, either fresh or dried.
Mugunghwa / Rose of Sharon: Korea’s national flower. This gorgeous plant is able to grow and adapt to harsh conditions, and symbolizes resilience. Mugunghwa means “eternal blossom that never fades”.
Chili pepper: A spicy staple in Korean cuisine and introduced by Portuguese traders in the late 16th century.
Sunburst: Represents longevity and youthfulness.
Side-eye pup: Based on our pup-in-charge, Little Bear.
